Purge Systems

Purge systems are used to protect electrical equipment from flammable gases when installed in hazardous areas. The technique involves purging and pressurizing the equipment enclosure with an inert or nonhazardous gas. While some electrical devices can be protected by either making the system explosion-proof or intrinsically safe, in many cases these solutions are not possible or practical. In these cases, purge systems provide a low cost solution without interfering with the device's design or construction.
